A WiFi billing and user management system for hotspots, schools and businesses that automates access control and billing.
The problem
Hotspot providers and schools struggle to control internet access, bill users accurately and prevent unauthorised connections, which leads to bandwidth abuse and lost revenue.
The solution
AlphaNet automates WiFi access and billing. Users create accounts and buy data bundles while the system enforces bandwidth limits and session timeouts and produces billing reports.
Technical approach
A Django and MySQL system integrated with the MikroTik API to enforce sessions, bandwidth limits and timeouts. M-Pesa handles bundle purchases and WebSockets show live user activity on the admin dashboard.
